Dr. Kristen Bish
Audiologist / CEO
Dr. Kristen Bish is a board-certified Doctor of Audiology. She received her Master's degree in Audiology in 1998 from the University of Buffalo. After practicing for five years, she continued her education and received her AuD. degree in 2005. She had been practicing in a small, private office in Mount Pleasant for four years prior to opening Palmetto Audiology and Speech Therapy in 2006.
Outside the office, Dr. Bish enjoys spending time with her husband, Darin and children, Brianna, Connor, and Katherine
Board Certified Hearing Instrument Specialist, SC HAS-490
Michael Beasley is an Audioprosthologist and Board Certified in Hearing Instrument Sciences. He's a member of the South Carolina Hearing Aid Society as well as the International Hearing Society. He's devoted to helping the hearing impaired, has a passion for treating those suffering from tinnitus and is committed to making a real difference in people's lives. He received his bachelor's degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1996. After practicing for the last eight years in Bluffton & Hilton Head Island, he's now in Charleston and very excited to be working on the Palmetto Audiology & Speech Therapy team. Outside the office, Michael enjoys spending time with his fiancé, Tracy and children, Andy and Scout.
Dr. Natalie Lapreziosa
Dr. Natalie Lapreziosa is our fulltime audiologist at The Hearing Shoppe. She received her Doctor of Audiology from University of Maryland in 2014 and practiced in Northern Virginia prior to moving to Mount Pleasant in 2016. She is passionate about helping people improve their communication and quality of life through the diagnosis and treatment of hearing loss. Outside of the office, Natalie enjoys going to the beach and spending time with friends and family.
Wendy Mueller, MS
CCC-SLP Director of Therapy Services/ Speech Language Pathologist
Wendy is a licensed and certified Speech-Language Pathologist. She received her B.S. in Psychology from Texas A&M University in College Station, TX, in 1990, where she discovered a passion for language through her minor in Linguistics. She continued studies at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA, in Speech-Language Pathology and received her Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology in 1994. Wendy has worked in public schools, home health, nursing home/rehabilitation centers, and private practice, but her joy lies in pediatric speech-language pathology. She is a member of The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and has held her Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) since June 1995. She is the proud wife of a Navy Veteran and mother of two children.
Harriet Hetzel, MED
CCC-SLP Speech Language Pathologist
Harriet C. Hetzel, MED, CCC, SLP is a Certified Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) with over 30 years of experience in the field. She holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) issued by the American Speech and Hearing Association and is a member of the South Carolina Speech and Hearing Association. Mrs. Hetzel is currently an Adjunct Professor at the College of Charleston and supervises special education students in the public school setting. She recently retired as a public school SLP where she was named Dorchester Two School District 2001 Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Hetzel graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Speech Correction from Valdosta State University in Georgia and a Master's degree in Education in Speech Language Pathology. She is also licensed by the South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation Board of Examiners in Speech-Language Pathology.
Lisa Baxter, MA
CCC-SLP Speech Language Pathologist
Lis was born in Baltimore, MD and moved to South Carolina in 1990. She attended Loyola University in Maryland and received an undergraduate degree in Speech Pathology. From there, Lisa attended Ohio University for graduate school and obtained my Master's in Hearing and Speech Science when dinosaurs roamed the earth! Actually, that was in 1989.
Lis is ASHA certified and licensed by the state of SC and has worked in many settings including hospitals, nursing homes, home health, schools and clinics. Have had experience working with people from 3 months to 105 years.
In her spare time, she enjoys jazz, scuba diving and watching movies.
SLP-CF Speech Language Pathology Clinical Fellow
Amanda received her undergraduate degree from the College of Charleston in elementary education and middle level education with focuses on math and science. She moved to Columbia and taught middle school math for 3 years while beginning her graduate degree in Communication Disorders at the University of South Carolina. During this time, Amanda gained clinical experience working in nursing homes/rehabilitation centers, public schools and private practice settings. She earned her Master of Communication Disorders degree in 2016 after completing her final internship at Palmetto Audiology and Speech therapy. Upon graduation, Amanda began working as a licensed Speech Language Pathologist Intern at PAST. Amanda is a member of the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA). She enjoys working with all age populations and is passionate about keeping up with the latest research and trends in the speech world. Amanda spends her free time with her one year old daughter and husband enjoying the beach and waterways of Charleston.
OTR Occupational Therapist
Andrea is a certified occupational therapist and has practiced since 1998. She is a graduate of the University of South Carolina where she earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in biology and a Bachelor's of Science degree in psychology. She gained her Master's in Health Sciences and occupational therapy from the Medical University of South Carolina. She has worked in multiple settings to include acute care, inpatient Rehabilitation, home-health, and outpatient care. Andrea enjoys spending time with her husband and her two children.
Kayleigh received her Bachelor of Arts in Spanish with minors in Education and International Studies from Wittenberg University in Springfield, OH in 2011, where she was also a varsity diver and golfer. As a student, she had the privilege of studying abroad in Santiago, Chile as well as traveling to Argentina and Guatemala. Following her graduation, she taught high school and middle school Spanish for six years while completing her Master of Communication Disorders at the University of South Carolina. She is licensed by the state of South Carolina and ASHA. Kayleigh loves working with all age populations and is passionate about helping her patients improve their quality of life. She is very happy to offer bilingual Spanish/English services as well as specialty services in voice, cognitive-linguistic rehabilitation and swallowing therapies. In her spare time, Kayleigh enjoys kayaking, cooking, and the beach with her fiance', Brian, dog, and cat.
